Karen Kane Fashion Show @ Dillards in Scottsdale Fashion Square

Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Karen Kane fashion show at Dillards located in Scottsdale Fashion Square. I've heard about this amazing line through the lovely Scottsdale Fashionista and wanted to learn more about the collection and Karen Kane herself.

Here's a little info about Karen and how she started the collection before I explain the photos below. Karen Kane grew up in Santa Barbara, California but moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. She enrolled into FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design. Karen Kane and her husband launched and shipped their first collection in December 1979. At that time, Karen and Lonnie did all of the sewing and manufacturing before finally finding contractors who would support their growing business. Now the company has grown into a 130,00 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Vernon, California and have two corporate showrooms in LA and New York. Another interesting fact about the collection, 80% of Karen Kane is made in the USA!

Karen Kane also launched a new line named after her two son's birth dates: Fifteen-Twenty. The collection is sold exclusively to fashion-forward boutiques around the U.S, including Neiman Marcus in Scottsdale. It's been worn by some of the biggest celebrities: Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Katherine Heigl, Jessica Biel, Miley Cyrus, Audrina Patridge, Hilary Duff, and Lo Bosworth.

Below are some photos of the 2011 Holiday Collection from the Karen Kane line. I actually had the honor of meeting the director of marketing and eldest son of Karen Kane, Michael Kane that same day.

Also, FYI, Karen Kane will launch a third line named Red 23 during Fall 2011. The new collection will consist of casual knits designed to complement Fifteen-Twenty's contemporary customer.

Thanks to Karen Kane and Michael Kane for having me. For more information you can follow @Karen_Kane on Twitter or "like" their page on Facebook.
